Finance Coordinator

Protorae Law is seeking a Finance Coordinator to work in conjunction with the firm’s Finance Manager to facilitate monthly accounts receivable, accounts payable, client intake, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.

Candidates should have at least one year of accounting experience in a law firm or professional services organization in addition to an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

The ideal candidate should have experience with producing client invoices in an automated billing system and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe. Exposure to CRM databases and timekeeping and document management applications are a plus. Candidates should have experience in organizing accounting files, both electronically and in hard copy, and have excellent proofreading skills.

Candidates should be self-motivated, friendly with strong interpersonal skills, able to prioritize and multitask, and take satisfaction in supporting billing attorneys and interacting directly with clients. Professional demeanor is essential.

This is an hourly part time position that will average between 14 – 20 hours per week; scheduling will be based around the firm’s monthly billing cycle and may increase as the firm grows. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Part time benefits include a 401(k) plan and paid parking.

Real Estate Attorney

Protorae Law is seeking to add an attorney to its Real Estate practice. Candidates should have in-depth, broad-based experience in advising clients and drafting documents relating to commercial real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a portable book of business, which should grow with the firm’s investment in marketing.

Candidates should have significant experience in the following: (i) drafting and negotiating documents in connection with the disposition, acquisition, development, and finance of commercial real estate, (ii) negotiating and drafting commercial leases whether for landlords or tenants, or (iii) handling other commercial land use and development legal issues. Candidates should also have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated motivation. Active Virginia Bar membership is required, and being barred in Maryland or the District of Columbia is a plus.

Zoning and Land Use Attorney

Candidates should have in-depth, broad-based experience in advising clients and drafting documents relating to land use, zoning and real estate development in the DMV, particularly in the Northern Virginia market. The ideal candidate will have a portable book of business, which should grow with the firm’s investment in marketing.

Candidates should have significant experience in regulatory and administrative approval procedures and policies as well as advising clients regarding zoning and other development disputes. Candidates should also have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated motivation. Active Virginia Bar membership is required; being barred in Maryland and/or the District of Columbia is a plus.
