“I did it my way,” sings Frank Sinatra in his world-famous anthem to making life choices. Here at Protorae Law, the same can be said for our firm as we reflect on 15 years of providing legal services to our clients.

When we opened our firm on September 1, 2010, we had no idea what the future would bring. We only knew that together we were prepared to offer a different type of legal experience to our clients than any of us could offer to them at previous law firms. We also wanted to offer a platform for our attorneys to realize their individual goals while working in a team environment.

Reflecting on the past fifteen years, we have done our best to achieve these goals. But there is no single “my way” in charting Protorae Law’s course. We have always relied on firm-inspired goals generated by our entire team of lawyers and administrative professionals. It takes a dedicated team to endure the myriad unexpected bumps along the way, small and large. One of the most significant challenges in managing a law firm with a robust litigation practice is to maintain a unity of purpose and good spirits even during difficult court proceedings. It requires quality people who band together in these times.

And, no doubt, as Sinatra acknowledges, “Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
” can be applied to some of our prior decisions. The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article discussing what is exceptional about America’s Capitalism. The distinguishing feature is the willingness to take risks: https://www.wsj.com/economy/us-capitalism-differences-eaecd208?mod=Searchresults&pos=1&page=1. While we at Protorae Law will not go so far as to proclaim ourselves as being exceptional, we can safely say that we are always willing to take risks.

Protorae Law’s future is bright. We are still growing, still improving, and still learning. We are also still excited to chart our own course. And, here is where we depart from Sinatra’s song: the end is not near, Protorae Law is just getting started.
