Protorae Law is pleased to announce the election of its newest member, John Williams, effective January 1, 2020. Williams, who joined the firm as an associate in August of 2018, is a member of the firm’s Business Transactions, Real Estate and Land Use, and Construction Law practices.

Since his arrival at the firm, John has been singularly focused on providing excellent client service and developing the Firm’s Corporate and Real Estate practices and we look forward to his continued involvement in these efforts,” said co-managing member Brian Chandler.
An experienced corporate attorney, John’s practice focuses on guiding companies through complex business transactions, including drafting and negotiating ownership agreements, professional service agreements, and real estate development contracts. John has extensive background strategically advising businesses and business owners on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and restructurings, and executive compensation matters. In addition, John has advised clients on corporate governance, deferred and equity-based compensation plans, and compliance with government procurement and contracting programs. John is a member of the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia Bars.
Prior to joining Protorae Law, John was an attorney at Lee/Shoemaker PLLC, representing many of the region’s preeminent architecture and engineering firms on a wide array of corporate and transactional matters. John is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and Virginia Tech.
